What is Laser Etching?
Laser etching allows us to produce realistic photo-like images on granite or other stone. Like a conventional laser printer, but with more precision, it's especially useful when working with monuments and headstones.
The Laser Etching Process
When laser engraving on granite, the surface of the polished stone is removed by the laser beam resulting in high resolution, high detail, and most of all, high-quality artwork. The best contrast will be achieved when engraving on black granite which produces a black and white grayscale photoengraving.
In-House Laser Etching
Our etching machine is here in our shop in Fauquier County, Virginia. Most of the work we do is performed here, so we have control over the schedule. Turnaround times depend on our workload.
